John Bridger's Inquisitress faces no easy task under her penalty for a course and distance win earlier this month and a better bet looks to be FIRE KING, who can gain a deserved first success of the season with the main danger rated as Eywa. The daughter of Mark Of Esteem has shown better form of late for William Jarvis and has been given a chance by the handicapper so she cannot be discounted. King's Approach has slipped to a fair mark and ran much better over course and distance last time but more solid claims are held by Walter Swinburn's Motty's Gift, who has been running consistently well in recent starts and should be thereabouts again. Mouse Hamilton-Fairley's Musical Script won well over a mile here in May and has every chance on running that day but he has struggled off higher marks in two subsequent starts and may still be a shade high in the weights so preference is for Fire King. The Andy Haynes-trained gelding has found one too good in each of his last two starts, both here over a mile, and he can reverse last time out running with Inquisitress, who he meets on 6lb better terms for half-a-length.
