Verdict

Mick Channon's Smart Red is the most experienced of the six runners that line up for this maiden and ran better when chasing home Sonoran Sands over course and distance last time but he is becoming expensive to follow and may be booked for a place at best in a contest taken to go to SURPRISE, who gets the vote ahead of High On The Hog. John Dunlop's colt showed improved form in an auction maiden over course and distance last month and has every chance following that effort, although he did look a little one paced that day. David Evans introduces a son of Firebreak in Iwantobreakfree but he will need to be useful to win this first time up, while Nick Littmoden's Miss Moneypenni did not build up from a promising debut outing at Windsor when well held in an admittedly better race at Newmarket last time. George Baker's Thunder Gulch filly, Miss Nimbus, is another interesting newcomer but a safer option looks to be Surprise. Mahmood Al Zarooni's filly made a pleasing first effort over course and distance earlier this month having been slowly away when fourth of 16 runners behind Sonoran Sands and she will take all the beating if able to build on that effort.
