PRESENT ALCHEMY is the one to beat on the official ratings and whilst there is a doubt over the suitability of this minimum trip, he is still preferred to Sea Crest in what looks an eminently winnable maiden. Hughie Morrison doesn't send many runners to the track but with the yard in good form he is looking to strike whilst the iron is hot. This horse has an official rating of 74 which looks a tad flattering so connections will be keen to pick up this maiden. He has shown plenty of pace so whilst he started off over a mile as his pedigree might suggest, the fact that he is now racing over this trip may be the way forward. There's plenty of headgear on offer which may draw some improvement from some modest looking individuals, but a bigger danger could be Sea Crest. She gets the fillies allowance and she should give another decent account of herself despite a poorish draw. Gee Gina's recent second at Newcastle in handicap company was her best effort to date and she may be getting the hang of things, for which the same is hard to say of Rainy Night who looks regressive. A weak race but a good opportunity for Present Alchemy to score.
