The 2009 version of the Hilary Needler Trophy went to trainer Tom Dascombe and he'll try for a repeat in the 2010 renewal with Malpas Missile but of more interest seems to be INAGH RIVER from the in-form Richard Hannon team while Dolly Parton also remains in our thoughts. Progressive in three starts the pick impressively won her maiden before only getting caught late in a strong-looking conditions race last time. The yard are still mopping up big prizes and this one sets the standard. Dandy Nicholls' sprinters always need respecting and his Dolly Parton has shown improvement in three starts so far. She won well in a maiden the last time we saw her and while that form is difficult to assess in this class she should improve and give her running. Malpas Missile may have had this as a target from the beginning considering the yard took this last year. She has shown improvement in a couple of runs and should improve again. Orchid Street made a promising debut but has form to overturn Dolly Parton and any money for Clive Brittain's newcomer Mawjoodah would be interesting with that one thrown in at this high standard for a debut. A really intriguing renewal.
