Verdict
A tough race to call and the admirably tough First Maite is a far from confident selection to return to winning ways today. Cryfield and Investment Affair along with Sarraaf and Mister Mal are others to consider as all are capable of a bold show on the pick of their efforts. However, First Maite is on a very lenient mark at present and is ideally suite by the way this race has been framed. The 10-year-old loves to weave his way through the pack and can be expected to swoop late and fast if the gaps open for him today. The fact that this track also seems to bring the best out of him is also a big plus for First Maite and he is more than capable of carrying his 7lb claimer home to victory.
