In depth

Verdict

Mick Easterby holds strong claims here running Emperor's Well and Gala Sunday, both should be in the shake up, however we will take a chance with Fiore di Bosco. The key to this race is a recent contest at Nottingham where David Barron's five-year-old was well beaten behind today's rival Gala Sunday. However the selection started very slowly that day and got well behind before staying on well to finish fifth. She has a nice turn around in the weights this afternoon and if breaking better should be capable of reversing the form. Emperor's Well finished eighth in that contest without being given a hard hard. He has a massive pull in the weights today and should get a lot closer. Splodgermac caused a bit iof a shock when winning at Pontefract last week and may do best of the others, but in a fascinating contest, Fiore di Bosco just gets the nod.
