Verdict

Only three turn out for the second race, the intriguingly named amplebosom.com Novice Auction Stakes over the extended seven furlongs, with Coxmooore holding solid claims. John Quinn's youngster caused a major shock to those who had lumped on Paradise Isle when going in at 50-1 on his Newcastle debut a fortnight ago, maybe aided by the rain-softened ground, but there will be more to come as he still looked a bit green. Marcus Eile also scored at Newcastle earlier in the season before flying too high in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom. Karl Burke's charge has been well held on two subsequent outings and has to give weight to the selection. Club Oasis showed little on her debut here three weeks ago and is hard to make a case for. Coxmoore can show that his debut win was no fluke by following up.
