Recent course and distance winner Ikan has already proved he can overcome stall one here, but he looks worth opposing off this 6lbs higher mark, and preference is for the well-drawn Domirati, who can be forgiven his defeat at Goodwood, as he was poorly drawn on the wide outside of the field. He is better judged on his close third to Proud Native, off this mark at Newmarket last month, with the likes of Delegate and Brigadore, both winners since, behind. Ikan comes here in top form and wasn't disgraced in defeat last time. Strictly on the book he holds the selection, but he looks to have enough on from his outside stall. A bigger danger may be Awarding, who goes well fresh as he showed on his return to action this term when runner-up to the progressive Move It (twice a winner since), over this course and distance back in April. He can run off the same mark here and is worthy of plenty of respect. It is not hard to see Telepathic going well from his ideal draw, next to the rails. This stiff-five furlongs should be right up his street, while The Privateer may also be more at home over this trip, after failing to last home over further. St Ivian doesn't look good enough, while Tender finds it difficult to get her head in front. While Domirati has yet to win on turf, he has shown enough recently to suggest that a race, such as todays is well within his grasp.
