A moderate contest opens the card and, with the top weight, Desert Fortune, looking overrated for what he has achieved so far on a mark of 58, this really will not take much winning. However, Lady Percy arrives here on the back of a string of fair efforts and can gain some compensation for some near misses from what has already been a hectic campaign for the daughter of Double Trigger. The Ian Woods-trained Distinctlysplendid is also capable of a bold show at this level and could provide the selection with the most to do. Whereas John O'Shea's pair of The Recruiter and Ecuador are not difficult to oppose from their lowly ratings. Tirailleur would also have to come into the reckoning on the pick of her form but she is unproven at the trip and is not noted for her consistency. She did have Lady Percy a half length behind when she finally got off the mark at Leicester two outings ago but has subsequently reverted to type with a poor display next time. Sentiments that cannot be applied to Lady Percy, who is taken to uphold her run of god form over a trip that will bring out the best in her.
