Richard Hannon had a number of options open to him with Nabtat Saif this week and it may be significant that he has chosen to send his charge here instead of heading for Newmarket later in the week. The daughter of Compton Place looks to be typical of her yard's improvers and she is taken to edge out Sworn To Secrecy and Saristar to get off the mark, in this her third outing. Any support for the newcomer Shrink could also be worth monitoring, but Nabtat Siaf is taken to be a different proposition to after her effort behind a potentially useful sort of Henry Cecil's at Goodwood last time. She is a full sister to Captain Said, who won his first three starts for Richard Hannon last year. Seven furlongs appears to be the limit of his stamina so if she copes with this stiff five furlongs, Nabtat Saif can use this as a confidence booster before being upped in trip in the near future.
