Verdict

There are some well handicapped runners in this field including last year's winner Divine Spirit but there may be another race in BAYBSHAMBLES now that he's reunited with Kelly Harrison. Her claim means that the gelding is 5lbs lower than when finishing a one and three quarter length fourth over course and distance just over a fortnight ago when a little short of room in the finish. That was the first time that the gelding had finished out of the places at this track in four runs so he clearly relishes this test and he has a decent each-way shout despite the low draw. Divine Spirit has a better berth as he bids to follow up last year's success from a mark that is 3lbs lower; he has an obvious chance on that reckoning and it would be no surprise to see him leave his recent efforts behind. Ebraam flashed home to finish third at Newbury to suggest that he may be ready to come out of the wilderness and he's certainly well enough handicapped having gone missing for a while but his reputation as an all-weather specialist is not without good reason. Van Bossed may be able to take advantage of a handy mark one of these days whilst the likes of Sands Crooner and the in-form Tyrannosaurus Rex should run their usual honest races whilst Bedloe's Island may have more in the locker but Baybshambles can be relied upon to turn up and perform.
