    In depth

    Verdict

Kylkenny is holding his form well and gets a confident vote in the finale. Lucayan Dancer, Archirondel and Blue Patrick are forwarded as the big dangers. The last named held his form well on the All Weather during the winter but ran a lack-lustre race at Hamilton last month. He has been given a sensible amount of time to get over whatever was troubling him that day and he has every chance of bouncing back in this company. Archirondel has been consistent at this level and knows his way around here well. He had Lucayan Dancer well beaten on his penultimate start and looks the main threat to the selection. However, Kylkenny has really found his racing shoes this season and is still feasibly well treated despite his recent hike in the weights. The 10-year-old takes his racing well and is sure to make this a solid test for the rest. The trip, draw and ground are not expected to pose him any problems and he is going to be hard to stop in his bid for the three-timer.
