Coquet Island came up against a useful type at Pontefract on his debut but can put his experience to good use here. Lady Fas is out of a prolific winner as a two-year-old and, along with Campbeltown and Verite, is worth considering if supported. Verite was keeping on in the closing stages of his racecourse bow at Musselburgh and created a favourable impression. He can pay his way before too long and is worth keeping tabs on from here. Campbeltown makes plenty of appeal on pedigree and is well worth monitoring in the betting. Especially as his yard have hit a rich vein of form and scored with a first time out runner just over a week ago. Lady Fas also comes from a stable that have made a bright start with their two-year-olds and cannot confidently be ruled out. However, Coquet Island was coltish in the paddock before his debut but showed a good attitude on the track. The son of Alhaarth is sure to be wiser for the experience and, with a cracking draw to help his cause, a bold bid is anticipated.
