On a day dominated by small fields elsewhere on the card, 16 line up here, with Castaigne the tentative pick to beat Madaar and Eagle's View. Although not an event to get too heavily involved in, Castaigne did enough at Warwick when second to Temper Tantrum to believe that her turn is near. Still a maiden after 27 starts, she nevertheless battled on gamely, and a similar effort might be enough. Madaar ran well from a bad draw at Pontefract last time in a race no better than this, but is often set to much to do, while Eagle's View put in a good effort at the weights at Leicester the time before last and is another who would not be a surprise winner. The rest are hard to fancy although the booking of Saleem Golam for Cooden Beach catches the eye, and she should be sharper for her return from an absence at Yarmouth where she threatened briefly before fading. A small investment on Castaigne may pay dividends.
