Mick Channon gets plenty of winners here and Cannon Fire will be a popular choice to oblige over the likes of Aurelia, and Kawakib. Cannon Fire, a son of Grand Lodge, holds an entry in next year's Vodafone Derby, and although he will have to improve to warrant such an illustrious entry, he has done enough to suggest that he will pay to follow. At Hamilton, he once again showed that a move up in trip is what is needed, and this 10 furlongs is expected to bring out the best in him. Aurelia is also going the right way, and her middle-distance pedigree should come in handy as she bids to improve on her recent third over a mile here. The two who finished in front of her do not look as good as Cannon Fire though and she is passed over. Kawakib was giving lumps of weight to Rabitatit when beaten in a nursery here three weeks ago, and back in maiden company, will be expected to go well. However, unlike the others mentioned, she is not bred to stay this far, and a fast pace will prove her undoing. Cannon Fire is the pick to open his account.
