In depth

Verdict

There are signs that the Luca Cumani stable is starting to creep into form, and of the two he saddles here, Prenup makes most appeal. Boot N Toot could be the one she has to beat. She rose steadily in the ratings last year, winning at Brighton and Beverley before ending the season with a fair sixth in the Hambleton Cup at Thirsk. 76 is by no means a harsh figure for her to begin her four-year-old season, and if fit for her reappearance she should have enough to cope with these. Stable mate Batik is lightly raced and not the easiest to assess, but jockey bookings suggest she may be playing second fiddle here, and a bigger danger might come from Boot N Toot. She was beaten out of sight in Listed company at Kempton last time, her first start on turf, but earlier had handicap-winning form at Lingfield and is probably worth another chance on this better ground. However, Prenup has the potential to improve a good deal this year and is fancied to score here.
