    Verdict

Quite a competitive sprint, despite the lack of runners and with four course winners Cressex Katie, Byo, Bold Effort and Tamarella in the field, winner finding will not be easy, but the only three-year-old in the field Tamarella will enjoy the fast ground and is the choice to see off her elders. George Margarson's speedster can be forgiven her effort at Musselburgh last time as she had no chance from her wide draw. As an added bonus here she will have the useful claimer Adrian McCarthy taking 3lbs off her back, which swings the vote her way. Cressex Katie was in cracking form last month, rattling off a three-timer, two of those victories were gained here. However, she has looked below par of late and it could be that she has had enough for the time being. Byo is a pacey colt and will be well suited by the likely strong pace here, but he does have a little to find on the figures. Bold Effort is clearly a light of former days and has no chance on these terms, but Erracht is a different kettle of fish. She has the best of the draw and if able to win the battle up front, could take a bit of pegging back. The Best Yet is interesting as a reproduction of his effort behind Fire Up The Band would be more than good enough in this, but there is a suspicion this trip may just be on the sharp side for him, so Tamarella is taken to win the battle up front and have enough of an advantage to hold on from the likely fast finisher The Best Yet.
