In depth

Verdict

On his return to the turf EFFIGY can send punters home happy despite the presence of Moves Goodenough, Support Fund and Willridge, all of whom come here after recent victories. Effigy was last seen on the all-weather at Great Leighs but given his style of racing, he was not suited by the pedestrian early pace which was set there. A combination of a return to the turf and the stiff climb here will certainly work in Effigy's favour. Moves Goodenough is another that likes to come off a fast pace. He didn't look to have too much in hand at Nottingham last time when benefiting from a well judged ride and might just be worth opposing now. Support Fund carries a 6lb penalty for his recent course and distance win. He goes well at this venue and a similar venue Brighton and cannot be left out of the equation while Willridge made all to win a weak Salisbury maiden in August. A mark of 72 is probably fair judging on what he beat but the yard is woefully out of form having not saddled a winner in almost two months. Effigy can get back to winning ways and land the finale.
