A fillies maiden for which a number are quite closely matched on the ratings and SURREALISM is selected to land it with Filigree Lace, Miss Brown To You and Ainia looking the biggest threats. Surrealism, third last time out at Chester having been held-up probably too far out of her ground as the leading protagonists has set sail for home long before she go into top gear. She has 1/2 length to find on Filigree Lace from that Chester race but given the more exposed profile of that rival it would come as no surprise that back here on a more conventional track, Surrealism would reverse the form. Filigree Lace to her credit was returning from a break in that Chester event. She came to win the race before possible lack of race fitness told. It is disappointing that she has not progressed from the initial promise she displayed earlier in the season at Windsor. Miss Brown To You returns from a 151 day break and steps up to ten furlongs for the first time here. She showed plenty of promise on debut at Newmarket but failed to build on that in two subsequent outings. The form of the Michael Bell yard is a slight concern also where are a successful September their horses have just been struggling in recent weeks. Ainia has shown promise in handicaps and was stepped up to ten furlongs for the first time on her last outing. She saw the trip out but looks high enough in the weights at the moment. Back in maiden company here she has to be respected but Surrealism is given the nod.
