    Verdict

Jumeirah Scarer can return with a bang to beat Master Mahogany, while Meelup and Stevedore rate a mention at least in the finale. Mick Channon's team have been noted doing some sterling work on the gallops of late on the winter ground at West Ilsley, and Jumeirah Scarer can be fancied to make up for lost time this term after finishing second on both starts on the Lingfield Polytrack last year. He looked a ready-made winner when runner-up to Grouville over a mile on the second of those two outings, and if anywhere near fit, can bounce back with a win. Master Mahogany will have plenty of supporters after his second to Lockstock here, but that was on heavy ground, and as he does like to get his toe in, he will struggle surely under today's conditions. In his favour is the fact that he is fit from a spell hurdling, but he is still worth opposing. Meelup had the distinction of winning the Jersey Guineas under Lisa Jones in April but that effort was put in context when he was well beaten at Chepstow last time. Stevedore comes from an in-form stable but is hard to fancy strongly, and we shall row in with Jumeirah Scarer.
