Laskari has to be of interest with Paul Webber's stable in much better form now than at any other time of the season but he is far from certain to appreciate the longer trip today and a better bet looks to be Stagecoach Opal, who gets the verdict ahead of Go West. The last mentioned belied odds of 25/1 when finding just River Reine too good at Taunton earlier this month and Heather Dalton's gelding has to be respected on that evidence but a 4lb rise since then has to be of concern and he looks best watched. Chery D'or is hard to recommend on recent form having been pulled up on three of his last four starts, while Parkinson has slipped back to a winning mark but is proving hard to win with. Nevada Red could probably do with some help from the handicapper but Don McCain's runners here are always worth noting. The vote then goes to Sue Smith's Stagecoach Opal, who has been running consistently well and would not be winning out of turn were he to be successful today.
