Plenty to consider but few come into the race in any sort of form. Silvergino is the suggestion with Even Flo, Clever Liz and Ballinruane all vying for places on the short-list. The selection has yet to shine in two starts for Tim Vaughan but the trainer has worked the oracle with a number of horses this summer and it's hoped that he can do so again with Richard Johnson taking the ride for the first time. He's certainly well handicapped on the best of his old form and may yet be able to return to near his best. Clever Liz hails from a shrewd yard and it would be no great surprise to see her improve dramatically on the form that she has shown in three runs over hurdles now that she is handicapping over fences; the market should provide a fair guide to expectations. The other two that made the short-list have stronger claims on the book. Even Flo has been given a short break since a below par run on rain softened ground at Uttoxeter; she would ideally prefer further and needs the rain to stay away but should be in the mix if getting her conditions. Ballinruane isn't ground dependant but would also prefer a stiffer test of stamina so we'll pass that pair over in favour of Silvergino.
