A very poor claimer to commence proceedings here and we'll take La Columbina to score from Afram Blue. Richard Hannon's filly is dropped back to a mile here and has the first-time visor applied and becomes an attractive proposition on both counts. The three-year-old has been tried over 10 furlongs in handicaps of late with no joy, and the handicapper has been reluctant to drop her, but this looks an easier task and she can go in. Afram Blue is a danger, no doubt. The Fraam gelding has largely been kept to this trip and has run with a fair bit of credit in handicaps at the distance. Dropped into this grade now he has to be taken seriously. Royal Strait comes from a yard in form and is dropped in here after looking to have been done no favours by the assessor in handicaps. This looks more like his bag. Yes Eighteen is interesting now he has headgear applied and Mrs Jefferson would have a squeak at the weights on her best form, but preference in this dire contest is for La Columbina.
