Verdict

Stormey had shown nothing in maidens which is why he was a 25/1 chance at Sligo last weekend but he belied his odds with a comfortable victory. That was on soft ground and he makes his handicap debut here. Hatch Hall won a maiden at Cork in October but his best recent run has been over a longer trip than this and he may need further. Kentucky Lass gained her first success at Roscommon last month but couldn't produce a repeat when strongly fancied on a return visit three weeks later. She'd be a threat if back to her best while Sharlanda produced her best run so far in a Tipperary handicap last month and has only gone up 1lb. BUONAROTTI BOY comfortably landed a Kilbeggan handicap before a fine second behind Coolfighter in a big field at Gowran. He's since run poorly on the Flat but this doesn't look the toughest of handicaps and he can get back on the winning trail.
