Fire In His Eyes had been running well until a very poor effort behind Flemenstorm at Fairyhouse where he made far too many mistakes. The winner had also been in good form and deserved his success where he battled on gamely though he's gone up 7lb. SHREWDOPERATOR made the running at Cork and ran on strongly when pressed. He's up 6lb but still at the right end of the handicap in conditions he loves so gets the nod. He holds Fairly Legal on an earlier run at Fairyhouse but Spancil Hill is reverting to fences after running really well over timber and he's another who enjoys plenty of cut in the ground
