In depth

Verdict

Darfour gains the vote ahead of Mundo's Magic, Prospect Place and Fish Called Johnny. Darfour produced a terrific turn of foot to get up and score at Newcastle seven days ago, and although having to shoulder a 6lb penalty, must surely be a major player again. The slight negative is the fact that he has not raced back over six furlongs since his debut, but if they go fast enough, things should again go his way. Mundo's Magic shaped well back over the trip at Hamilton last time and is dropped in grade today, while Prospect Place did not fare too badly in the decent race won by Kyle at Haydock six days ago. Fish Called Johnny has blinkers on for the first time, and is dangerous to leave out of calculations, and in what is a wide-open handicap, only the smallest of votes goes to Darfour.
