        Verdict

        Another Genepi gets the nod in a tight handicap where Esoterica, Kirkby's Treasure and Joshua's Gold are also shortlisted. An each-way case can be made for Five Wishes but she was very disappointing at Musselburgh last time and she needs to post a much more determined effort in this company. Joshua's Gold is capable at this level and has to merit respect after gaining an overdue success at Catterick 12 days ago. A 3lb higher mark looks fair and Declan Carroll's charge looks sure to go close if he is on song. Esoterica has made the most of a drop in the ratings and, like Kirkby's Treasure, comes here in good heart. Both are capable of pushing the selection to the line and are hard to split on recent evidence. However, Another Genepi has been very consistent since being fitted with blinkers and she would have the measure of them both if she runs true to form. The Kevin Ryan-trained filly is versatile regarding the ground and has been presented with a good opportunity if she keeps her mind on the job today.
