In depth

Verdict

Doric Charm is the pick over Morristown Music, Inflagrantedelicto, Judge Neptune and Poniard. Doric Charm was second to fellow 40-1 shot Osteopathic Remedy on his debut over the course-and-distance a fortnight ago, and although the form is nothing special, he can find the improvement needed to go one better. Morristown Music stayed on really well behind the much more fancied Deserted Dane on his Beverley introduction, but shapes as though a longer trip will suit, while Inflagrantedelicto looked nothing special when well beaten on the Wolverhampton Polytrack, and is worth opposing. Poniard has had plenty of opportunities and was beaten in a Ripon seller last time, but will handle the ground at least, and Judge Neptune really caught the eye on his debut here two weeks ago, finishing fourth despite losing about eight-lengths at the start. The ground will be a key factor here, and in the hope that he handles it, Doric Charm is put forward as the suggestion.
