Top-weight BOY BLUE likes this ground and comes here in good form; the shortlist consists of Handsome Falcon, All About You and High Severa. A dual course winner, the selection comes here on the back of a fair fourth to Moheeb at Thirsk. That track may not really play to his strengths and back at his favourite venue off a mark of 80 he looks sure to run well. Wovoka's recent form is not enough to recommend him despite a falling handicap mark, last year's winner Handsome Falcon has been nudged up the weights again for a near miss at Nottingham, whilst All About You's season has not gone to plan and blinkers are now tried. High Severa enjoyed a role in the mud when winning at Haydock in May. That doesn't look an amazing maiden but his run behind Firebet looks solid and the drop back to this trip can only help. Cheek-pieces need to rejuvenate Major Magpie, and so a bigger threat may be Doric Echo and Stellite who both run this track well. Course and distance winner Tom Tower handles the ground but he has shot up the ratings for a successful early part of the season and may need some help from the handicapper. An open affair where Boy Blue is given the narrow vote.
