Garnock Venture appeals as best of the three newcomers, but those with experience already boast some fair form, and Partners In Jazz is just preferred to Mind Alert and High Voltage. David Barron has a good team of youngsters this year, and Partners In Jazz showed plenty of speed when second to the useful Venetian Pride on his debut at Hamilton, eventually going down by just three parts of a length. That was a very pleasing start, and this US bred colt gave the impression he must surely be winning soon. High Voltage shaped very well on his second start, when second to the useful Bella Tutrice, and filled the same position next time over six furlongs at this course. Karl Burke's colt looks capable of winning a race like this, as does Mind Alert. Tim Easterby's juvenile showed bags of promise on his debut in the Brocklesby Stakes way back in March, but was then disappointing when odds-on favourite at Musselburgh. He is almost certainly capable of better than that, but Partners In Jazz has perhaps more scope than his two rivals and is just preferred.
