A ready winner last time, and from a stable in prime form, Ballyhurry should not be opposed here; Young Alex, Sea Storm and Jeepstar should be the best of the rest. Ballyhurry was a very smart winner over course and distance last month, cruising up on the bit to take up the running at the furlong pole, and just pushed out for a comfortable success. It is hard to see the third home, Bodfari Pride, reversing form on just six pounds better terms here, and the runner-up scored on Thursday so the form looks solid. Although that win was on yielding ground, Ballyhurry scored on fast ground at Musselburgh earlier this season so Jim Goldie's charge is strongly fancied to follow up. Young Alex has been knocking at the door of late, and was possibly a shade unlucky when second at Chepstow last time, but Karl Burke's charge is not the most straightforward of rides. Quito had Sea Storm back in fifth when landing a Classified Stakes at Thirsk a couple of starts ago, but the latter may just be coming to hand now and is capable of reversing the form on five pounds better terms here. Tim Easterby's horses are running extremely well, so the lightly-raced Jeepstar, third to better fancied stablemate Raphael on his reappearance, is certainly a big danger. But Ballyhurry looks to be a few steps ahead of the handicapper and is fancied to notch a double under the in-form apprentice Nicky Mackay.
