Silver Mascot can give weight away all round to collect at the expense of Downland, Luke After Me, Zhitomir and Jubilee Street. Silver Mascot is having his first outing for Ian Semple here after finishing third in selling company for Reg Hollinshead at Wolverhampton in March. The five-year-old has two ways of running and seems best when allowed to bowl along in front, so similar tactics may be used here. This class F handicap should not take too much winning and he does not look that badly treated. Ian Semple obviously saw something that he liked anyway and we shall go with his judgement today. Downland was second on his favoured soft ground at Redcar last time but conditions are much faster here, but he does have the assistance of Kevin Darley so should not be ruled out. Luke After Me is still a maiden but ran well at Thirsk last time in a similar contest to this. However, Zhitomir beat him at Catterick in March and now re-opposes on better terms, so makes more appeal. Jubilee Street had it to do at the weights when fourth in a claimer at Doncaster and will likes the better ground now so is another for the frame. It is a weak race though and Silver Mascot may be up to the task on his first run for new connections.
