Tony Tie has been shaping well enough recently to warrant support here, with Oldenway and the reappearing Kirkham Abbey seen as potential dangers. Tony Tie's only previous victory over ten furlongs came over the course and distance in 2000, and the way that Jim Goldie's charge has shaped on his two latest outings suggests that another visit to the winner's enclosure is imminent. A close second over this trip at Newcastle, the drop back in distance at Musselburgh three weeks ago was against him, and this well handicapped eight-year-old will be much more of a threat now. Oldenway has also done well without winning so far this term, and will appreciate the drop back in trip after finding his stamina stretched at Musselburgh. Kirkham Abbey was prolific scorer last term, notching up five successes no less, including a staying on victory over nine furlongs at Redcar. Effective over today's trip, he will like the fast ground and the only thing putting us off is the fact that he might need the run. Arcalis is opposed for the same reason, while Blue Sky Thinking has topweight to overcome, so we expect Tony Tie to mow them down from off the pace to record a 10th career win.
