This is a competitive handicap in which Yorkshire Blue, Fox Covert, Sharoura and Val de Maal all have claims and the vote is given to Fox Covert. This race has been won in the last four seasons by a four-year-old, and our selection looks set to keep that trend going today. He won well last time when beating Sharoura and now that he has hit form he looks like one to stay on the right side of. His yard are in flying form and from his middle draw he should go close. Sharoura is closely-matched with our selection from their recent run and she is obviously respected but she is not the most consistent and on that basis she is hard to put forward with any degree of confidence. Val de Maal has not won a race for nearly two years which counts against him, although he did go close at Wolverhampton earlier this month, while Yorkshire Blue won well last time and should be capable of getting competitive again today. Piccleyes would have a chance on the pick of his form but he usually keeps his best for the all-weather at Wolverhampton and for the winner we will stick with Fox Covert.
