Markhan was having his second run in two days when a close third here on Saturday and can earn some place money again. Acrux has progressed from sellers to winning at this level at Ripon and he's continued to go well, including when third in a Redcar Class 4 on Saturday. Branscombe had been threatening to win again for some time before doing so at Chelmsford for which he's been raised 5lb but a chance is taken with HASSELNOTT. Jonny Levins' charge has only won once but was only beaten a length behind Koybig at Killarney last month and would have a chance on that run. Chinese Spirit won this last year but does best with some rain.
