Blinkers may spark Cobo Bay back into life however he is unlikely to get an easy lead and we will side with hold-up performer GOLDEN PENNY, especially if the course receives any rain. There looks to be plenty of pace on here and some of these may cut each others throats. The selection was a good winner at Newcastle back in May when he came from off the pace and the mile trip is no problem, despite his poor showing at Carlisle last time out. Blue Spinnaker is one to watch closely in the betting with Paul Mulrennan back on board for the first time since the horse's two second places at this track in September; the horse is slowly edging down to a decent mark. The tongue-tie and blinkers combo is tried on Celtic Change but after the visor and cheek-pieces it looks to be a desperate move, so a bigger threat may be recent course winner Stellite who is in as good form as ever. Grand Diamond looks the best of those racing from out of the weights but his consistency has not yet yielded the wins he perhaps deserves. White Deer and Royal Destination come here on the back of wins, and of the pair the unexposed Royal Destination has more scope for improvement but a mark of 82 against some experienced handicappers looks high enough. Toto Skyllachy may run well at a price if he bounces back from a bad York run, however the better bet may be Golden Penny who is preferred.
