ANOTHER DECREE looks nicely handicapped now following a couple of below-par efforts and Michael Dods' runner is marginally preferred to Tom Tower, Kargan and Botham. The selection gets to race off a mark of 65 today, which is 7lb lower than his opening handicap run at Doncaster. He wasn't disgraced on that effort last July and he is taken to run a much better race than on rain-softened ground at Newcastle last time out. Shunkawakhan should appreciate the return to seven furlongs today but his all-weather record is better than on the turf, so a bigger danger may be Stoic Leader who has shaped recently as if this drop in trip will suit and he is handicapped to win soon. Tom Tower romped home here over a mile last time out on his first run of the season; that was a commanding performance but it was a small field of poor horses and an 11lb higher mark today will make life much tougher this afternoon. Kargan continues to run well in defeat but is yet to win in 16 starts so he is opposed, as is Botham who had plenty in his favour last time out and despite Daniel Tudhope taking over from some less experienced jockeys, he is taken on today. A competitive handicap once again but Another Decree is fancied to get back to winning ways.
