Verdict
Ruth Carr's NEWGATE was a course and distance winner back in April and is put forward to repeat that success at the main expense of Ovthenight and Stratford Stroller. The five-year-old gelding has won two of his last four outings and clearly goes well here. Ovthenight has had a rather inconsistent spell on the level recently but has some good form over hurdles and should find life a lot easier now in handicap company. Jonjo O'Neill's Stratford Stroller was back up in trip for his handicap debut last time and equipped with a tongue tie for the first time. He ran well and any further improvement should see his make the money here.
