Notability has been laid out for the big race and can come out on top ahead of Munaddam, Zomerlust, Partners In Jazz and Commando Scott to name but a few. As usual there is a long list here rather than a short-list, but Michael Jarvis won this 12 months ago with Iffraaj, and is sure to have Notability spot on to repeat the feat. The son of King's Best goes on the ground and was a progressive sort last year, his only poor run coming on his final start on fast going in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot at York. He was beaten a whisker earlier by Home Affairs in the Silver Bowl at Haydock, and the latter came out to win a Listed race recently, so from a form perspective he has nothing to fear from any of his rivals here, and if he can get into the lead early, can gallop his way to victory under Mr Ascot himself, Frankie Dettori. Munaddam was the subject of good reports before finishing second on his comeback at Lingfield a fortnight ago and has not had much racing. He shows plenty of speed and might not relish conditions today. There is a strong northern challenge, with the likes of Zomerlust, Game Lad, Commando Scott and Partners In Jazz all respected. The latter hails from a bang-in-form stable and will love the ground. He just needs to prove that he stays, and if doing so can make the frame at a decent price. There are many more that are probably worth a mention, but in the space allowed we shall sum up by nominating Notability as the one to beat.
