Verdict

SUBJECTIVIST has only had two starts since winning this easily in 2021, the latest when third behind Broome in the Dubai Gold Cup over 2m in March. In the hope he's back to his best he can gain a famous double. The latter's yard is also represented by Emily Dickinson, whose best form is on testing ground and ran poorly when odds-on at Leopardstown last month though Ryan Moore sticks with her. Doncaster Cup winner Coltrane warmed up for this with an impressive victory in the Group 3 Sagaro Stakes here and landed the Ascot Stakes over track and trip a year ago. Courage Mon Ami is something of an unknown being unbeaten in two runs on the all-weather and a 1m6f Goodwood handicap but wouldn't be running here unless thought capable of a big effort. St Leger winner Eldar Eldarov was probably in need of the run on his reappearance in the Yorkshire Cup and got outpaced on the fast ground before staying on strongly. Yibir beat Broome in the 2021 Breeders' Cup Turf over 1m4f but has never been anywhere near this trip.
