LA YAKEL (NAP) is still awaiting an eagerly anticipated seasonal reappearance and hopefully will step forward now. He looked most progressive last term and William Haggas has appeared very particular about his debut run this term. A course and distance winner, he could prove to be very well handicapped and it will be disappointing if he doesn't go close. Fulfilled, 5lb out of the weights, is upped dramatically in class but is admirably consistent and enjoys a 3-8 strike rate on Turf. He needs to progress but stays well and looks on the upgrade. Al Nafir was never a factor at Royal Ascot but the Appleby string is now in much better form and a line is best struck through the run as he looked progressive previously. Easy Kempton winner, Saratoga Gold, completes the shortlist despite an 8lb hike.
