Hurricane Hymnbook can get back to winning ways ahead of Confront, Eastern Gift and Sam's Cross to name but a few. Hurricane Hymnbook showed a fine turn of foot when making a winning debut at Warwick last month, and lost no caste in defeat when beaten two-lengths by Ibn Khaldun in a nursery here a fortnight ago. The latter lines up in a Group 3 half an hour prior to this contest, and a win for him would give big boost to the selection's chances here. Confront shaped like a certain future winner when second on his Newbury bow, especially as Ryan Moore was pretty kind on him when the colt's chance of justifying favouritism had gone. He holds an entry in the Racing Post Trophy, and is held in high regard, so should make a bold show here. Eastern Gift has bags of experience, and his sole victory came over seven-furlongs. Richard Hannon's charge finished eighth in a valuable sales race at Newmarket last time, and must also enter calculations, while Sam's Cross will appreciate both the softer ground and step up in trip. So, a lively little contest can go the way of Hurricane Hymnbook.
