Ibn Khaldun can complete a hat-trick at the expense of Meeriss, with Yahrab expected to give a good account as well. Ibn Khaldin is impeccably-bred, being by Dubai Destination out of Gossamer, and although he will have to go some to match the exploits of his parents, the Godolphin inmate is on an upward curve at present. Having opened his account at Leicester, he showed vast improvement when landing a nursery here off a mark of 84 a fortnight ago, and connections have no qualms about pitching him into this Group 3. It remains to be seen whether he can justify some fancy entries in the future, but for now, he can give Frankie Dettori another winner at his beloved Ascot. Meeriss is on a hat-trick as well after gaining narrow successes at Lingfield and Goodwood, and by all accounts has been working well at home, so he is put up as the main danger. Yahrab will not be intimidated by this company either after his close sixth in the Group 2 Royal Lodge here last time. His best form has been on faster ground though, and he can be taken on. With the amount of juvenile talent housed at Kingsley House, it is interesting that Mark Johnston relies on Naomh Geileis, and it would be no surprise if she were to go well off her light weight. Ibn Khaldun is a most progressive individual though, and is the one to be on.
