Verdict

There are half-a-dozen previous course and distance winners in a tricky finale. Royal Birth, Secretinthepark and Texting are all worth considering but Robert Cowell could hold the key to this with a trio of runners. Grandfather Tom has won his last two but has been found wanting in this higher grade in the past. BLUE DE VEGA is an infrequent winner but is now 4lb lower than when scoring here last summer and could spring another surprise if on a going day. Lord Riddiford has been taking on slightly better company but Thegreatestshowman may have slipped into the grip of the handicapper. The three-year-olds Heritage and Wedding Date look the pick of the remainder.
