In depth

Verdict

Another impossible-looking handicap but Baasem has found form with a vengeance, winning his latest at Doncaster by 14 lengths though he’s gone up 12lb in the weights. Faylaq failed in his hat-trick bid here in July and is 2lb higher while I'll Have Another’s victory at Newmarket came over 1m6f, though she’s still preferred to stablemate Persian Moon. Court Poet has a bit to prove after a break and it’s no surprise that William Buick prefers the progressive Cirque Royal but Fox Vardy is usually thereabouts and Apparate has placed twice over this trip since scoring at Newmarket in May. RHYTHMIC INTENT clearly relished the step up to 1m4f at Newbury as he quickly put daylight between himself and a subsequent winner. He’s only been raised 3lb for that and might be well treated back in a handicap. Never Do Nothing has placed twice over course and distance since winning at Goodwood but is still creeping up the weights.
