In depth

Verdict

Kenzo III has been a relatively lightly raced nine-year-old and, with Nicky Henderson's string continuing in good form, is taken to gain a deserved success and defy top weight with Hautclan and Garryvoe looking the main dangers. Hautclan has shown improved form in his last two starts and Jonjo O'Neill has his string in good order at present so there may be even more to come from the eight-year-old who has to be respected. Chery D'or disappointed at Southwell last time and is far from certain to stay this far so may be best watched, while Strong Resolve may be a shade high in the weights. Reach For The Top is less exposed than most of these and has to be respected on trip and ground that should suit although a bigger threat is likely to come from Tom George's recent Ascot second Garryvoe. Kenzo III is open to plenty of improvement though and is taken to continue the good form of Nicky Henderson's yard.
