Second-half goals from James Henry and Ricky Holmes earned Oxford their first points of the season as they beat Burton 3-1.
Substitute Holmes scored with his first touch as he converted Henry's pass after 69 minutes, after Henry had put the U's back in front four minutes in to the second half.
John Mousinho had opened the scoring for the home side after 18 minutes, appearing to get the faintest of touches to send Marcus Browne's free-kick past Stephen Bywater.
David Templeton was booked for diving in the box as Albion tried to hit back, but twice Oxford were denied by desperate last-ditch defending from Jake Buxton and Ben Turner.
Burton levelled in the 39th minute when Ben Turner got his head to Templeton's corner and Marvin Sordell fired in the loose ball as U's defenders stood appealing for a foul.
Burton had Jamie Allen sent off three minutes from time for a second bookable offence.
