Goalscorer Danny Ings felt Burnley should have taken maximum points as they fought back to hold Aston Villa at Turf Moor.
Ings' penalty snatched a 1-1 draw on Saturday to extend the Clarets' unbeaten run to three matches, although they still remain in the Premier League drop zone.
Joe Cole had scored on his first top flight start for Villa, but the hosts were awarded a penalty three minutes from time when Villa defender Jores Okore brought down Lukas Jutkiewicz.
In-form Ings stepped up and fired into the roof of the net for his fourth goal in the last five games and he could have won the game deep in stoppage time when he struck the post.
"The lads are disappointed as well as me personally that we didn't take all three points today," the former Bournemouth striker told Sky Sports.
"I'm confident, but I've always been confident in my own ability. In the previous games there have been chances which have not managed to go in but you know I've turned that leaf and they're starting to go in.
"Going one-nil down against any Premier League side is always tough to get back into the game. We started the game really slow today. We weren't at it in the first-half.
"The gaffer came in and we had a reaction at half time and we went out as a different side. We were extremely unlucky not to take all three points.
"Hitting the post put a negative effect on the day, but we have to reflect on the positives and not the negatives. We have got to move forward."
