Burnley manager Sean Dyche was pleased with his side's fighting spirit as they rescued a 1-1 draw against relegation rivals Aston Villa at Turf Moor.
Danny Ings' 87th-minute penalty earned the Clarets a valuable point on Saturday after Joe Cole handed Villa the lead on his first Premier League start for the club.
Burnley were looking to make it three wins in a row in the top flight for the first time in almost 40 years but has to settle for a share of the spoils despite a late onslaught from the Lancashire outfit.
"I thought we were going to go on and win the game because of the chances we created," Dyche told Sky Sports. "I thought the game was quite even. They're a good side. Lots been made of them having a tough run, but they're still a good side.
"We knew it was still be a big challenge today but I thought we had some real good play and pockets of what we hope to be about going forward.
"The quality of the chances we had going forward was there for all to see and you come away at the end wondering how we didn't win it, but I must make it clear it was a real balanced game and it could have gone either way.
"They slowed the game down after going a goal up, but we managed to find a foot hold in the game and deliver a good performance in the end."
Dyche also praised goalscorer Ings, who is a player in alluring form, following his fourth Premier League goal of the season.
"He's unlucky not to get a brace," said the Clarets' boss. "He hit the post and big Jukes (Lukas Jutkiewicz) came on and missed one. Barnsey (Ashley Barnes) had a couple of half chances so there are good signs from all of the players at the moment."
