Premier League: Charlie Austin dedicates QPR winning goal to memory of two deceased supporters
Sunday 30 November 2014 07:40, UK
Charlie Austin dedicated his dramatic winning goal that sank Leicester to two QPR fans who recently passed away.
Malcolm Oakley and Alice Brooks were both remembered with a minute’s applause prior to kick-off at Loftus Road on Saturday, while the Rangers players wore black armbands in their honour.
Oakley, 66, was a former employee in the club’s box office and picked up the supporter of the year award in 2013, having not missed a home fixture in 50 years.

Austin immediately sprinted to the bench after he nodded in the final goal of a 3-2 Premier League win and held up a Rangers shirt that displayed his name.
"That goal and the win was for them - two big QPR fans who unfortunately died this week," Austin told Sky Sports.
"We showed great spirit and character to get the winner but we do make it hard for ourselves sometimes.
"We had to come from behind to get back in the game and then we knew we needed a fast start and another goal in the second half but we let them equalise.
"But we never give up. We have been trying to make Loftus Road a fortress and I think we are doing. The fans were on top of them today and made it hard for Leicester, and we ended up with the three points."
Rangers' first win in four and only their third victory of the season lifted them off the bottom of the Premier League.
Leroy Fer fired them into a 2-1 lead on the cusp of half-time with his first goal since a summer move from Norwich.
And he said: "We just keep on fighting and I’m delighted to get the goal.
"We wanted to win for those fans who died this week and Charlie Austin is so important for us - he scores almost every weekend and today’s was another important goal."
